Using your password

If your Helix server user has a password set, you must use it when you issue p4 commands. To use the password, you can:

• Log into Helix server by issuing the p4 login command, before issuing other commands.
• Set P4PASSWD to your password, either in the environment or in a config file.
• Specify the -P password option when you issue p4 commands (for instance, p4 -P mypassword submit).
• Windows or OS X: store your password by using the p4 set -s command. Not advised for sites where security is high. Helix server administrators can disable this feature.
