What's new in P4V 2026.1

Released: March 2026

For a complete list of what’s new and bug fixes in this release, see the release notes.

Complete workspace view with unsynced files

Display files that are not yet synced to your workspace tab by using the Show Files Not Synced option, giving you a complete and accurate view of your workspace at all times. To learn more, see Customize Depot and Workspace views using filters.

Workspace tab enhancements

The Workspace tab has several enhancements:

  • Quickly clear expanded folders in the Depot and Workspace trees using the new Collapse All Folders button. This lets you instantly collapse all expanded folders for a cleaner, more focused view. To learn more, see Modify views.

  • Refreshing the Workspace tree is now significantly faster. Only the files currently in view are refreshed, and additional files are displayed on demand as you scroll. This reduces the number of server calls during refresh operations and improves performance when auto-refresh is enabled.

Finer control over canceling active commands

You now have more granular control over commands running in P4V. Click the Activity monitor Activity Monitor button button to cancel an entire command group or individual commands which are not part of a command group. This gives you precise control over which commands to stop.

To learn more, see Activity monitor.

Compare local files to shelved revisions

You can now compare your local workspace files directly against their shelved revisions to see what has changed since you last shelved your work. This gives you the insight required to decide how best to move forward in your development workflow.

To learn more, see Diff Summary.

More flexible stream filtering in the Depot tab

Select multiple streams at once to filter the Depot tab, with the Tree Restricted to Stream Type (No Filter) option for a Streams folder so you can tailor the view exactly to your needs.

To learn more, see Customize Depot and Workspace views using filters.

Other enhancements

  • The Rename workspace dialog box now automatically prefills the current workspace name in the New name field.

  • The Get Revision Progress dialog box, displayed when you click the Get Latest toolbar button, now shows progress based on the number of files being copied and includes a progress bar for each file, giving you clearer, more intuitive feedback during transfers.

  • Use the Application color scheme (requires P4V restart) option in the Display category of the Preferences dialog box to choose the System theme on a Windows operating system so that your P4V automatically matches your operating system’s appearance.

  • Use the Copy Changelist Number option to copy the changelist number for a file directly from the History tab.

  • Overridden preferences are now more intuitive to identify. Instead of using asterisks and reminder text, P4V now displays a tool-tip Tool-tip icon for overrides icon when a preference has been overwritten by your P4 administrator.

  • P4V, P4 Merge, and P4 Admin now feature new application icons. All the icons share a consistent design, each differentiated by its own background color for easy recognition.
